Cargo is an extension mostly written by Yaron Koren, released in January 2015, that is billed as an alternative to Semantic MediaWiki and many of the other SMW-based extensions (with a few exceptions, most notably Semantic Forms). What does that mean? Why is an alternative needed? What are Cargo's strengths and weaknesses compared to SMW? And why should you care? This talk will try to answer these and other questions, and will also provide a demo of Cargo's functionality.
