typo in example

[[Test geographic coordinate:: -32.715° -77.03201°]]

is missing a comma, it should read

[[Test geographic coordinate:: -32.715°, -77.03201°]] --Cretep 08:03, 27 November 2010 (CET)

Hi Cretep, thanks for this hint. I have just amended the page. Cheers --kgh 12:52, 27 November 2010 (CET)

Coordinates in decimal

Hello. We have a wiki where we pass decimal coordinates to infobox, but they are saved as degree, minutes, seconds see. When we query them, they are returned as degree, minutes, seconds. How can we get them in decimal? I have tried "|?coordenadas#decimal", without luck.

Planet in Geographic coordinate

Is it possible to add an optional reference to the planet (type Page) to Geographic coordinate type just as height was added?

Similar answer, maybe in SMW 1.10 or later. At that point we will be using a new library for this which already has such a planet field.

However for now, if you don't want to visualize it on maps anyway, you can just create some subobject or record.

I do want to visualise coordinates using Wikileaflet JavaScript and CSS-based extension and template format (this is an example of a map that uses coordinates returned by a query:Шаблон:Русский_Марш_4_ноября_2012_года/Места), I just dont't want the visualisation to be too closely integrated with Google products. For the time being, I store lattitude and longtitude separately in properties of Number type.

Thank you for your quick answers. I am looking forward to 1.10 release.

Geographic coordinate type sans Semantic Maps

Is it possible? I want to use the former but not the latter. Would the developers consider separation of the two or returning the type into SMW core?

This is something we might do in the future yes, but that will not be before SMW 1.10.
