Machine-to-Machine communication, Man-to-Machine interaction and seamless supply chain diagnostics usually require highly complex software solutions, incurring a high cost and maintenance effort. At gesinn.it, we integrated Semantic MediaWiki as part of our wikiboxx to radically reduce cost and complexity in the Smart Factory.
wikiboxx is a Raspberry Pi-based appliance. As Semantic Object Memory (SOM) it stores all related information about a concrete machine in a self-contained, computer-understandable way. wikiboxx turns machine data into smart data, providing a 360° view of your processes and facts, automating information workflows and thus bridging the information gap between the shop floor and the factory IT environment.
The low-cost device integrates various bus types and data formats from disparate sources across the factory. It communicates with humans, other wikiboxxes and software tools to enable highly individualized production processes and provide a comprehensive picture of critical supply chain information and knowledge.
