Sandbox
From semantic-mediawiki.org
Sandbox is the common MediaWiki term for a testing page that wiki users can edit to try out the features of a system.
This page is not a test page. The reason is that for trying out Semantic MediaWiki, it is often necessary to change more than one page. For example, inline queries do not make much sense if there is one test page only. Therefore SMW has two complete sites that can be freely edited for testing purposes:
- sandbox.semantic-mediawiki.org is used for testing SMW features. It is often at a very recent development version, so it allows you to test the most up-to-date SMW (for example, you can check if a bug that you have found is still there). Since many SMW extensions are not compatible with the latest SMW version immediately, the site has only a few extensions installed.
- scratchpad.referata.com is used for testing features of SMW and its extensions. It tries to provide a site that has many popular SMW extensions in addition to the core version of SMW. It may not always run the most recent version of SMW, but it is still quite up-to-date.
Please use the above sites whenever you want to experiment with SMW and its extensions.
