August 10, 2011. The SNPedia-Gene Wiki mashup is the first known case of joining the information of two wikis via RDF and SPARQL using Semantic MediaWiki A paper was published by Benjamin M. Good, Salvatore Loguercio and Andrew I. Su describing how two wikis, SNPedia and Gene Wiki were used to integrate and assemble separately collected data into a "meta-wiki" by utilising the abilities of Semantic MediaWiki to handle the Resource Description Framework (RDF) via its standard query language SPARQL.
