Beyond points - How to turn SMW into a complete Geographic Information System
SMW is a database. It is now possible to store complex geographic information – points, lines, and polygons – as a special GEOMETRY type in most other database systems. This talk will present why it is important to have a more complex geographical type than “Geographic coordinate” in SMW, what additions are needed to turn SMW it into a complete geospatial database and some clues on ways to implement them.
