SciCom Wiki - FAIR knowledge infrastructure for educational content | |
Talk details | |
Description: | We invite to discuss the "SciCom Wiki," a wiki to semantically describe scientific and educational content that broadly reaches citizens, such as videos and podcasts. We envision a repository for content data such as transcripts of science communication media as well as meta-data such as authorship, platforms, topics etc. This enables the collection and visualization of decentralized insights, providing a valuable resource for researchers and communicators.
We started conceptualizing in 2021, founded as a NPO in 2023 and manage our sparse resources to slowly achieve our goals. This talk is one further step we have been recommended to take from fellow Wikipedians, preceeded by our GPN22 talk: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kDHrcTQED_U |

Bug report: The Talk submission form seems broken in two ways:
- Once the "Detailed description" field is used, the buttons ("Link", "Embedded file" etc.) always jump down.
- The last submission resulted in a timeout and likely failed to save after "Save page" was hit, so this is the second time this talk is submitted. If there are two entries with this name and speaker, please consider the first.
Likely the best description of the project is the startsocial scholarship application (german), the GPN22 talk (german) and the website.
Organized as a non-profit charitable organization, collaborating with organizations such as the TIB and WMDE, we are still building up this project. It is intended to be a long-term solution, developed and grown over the coming decade to eventually structure information for already accessible, educationally valuable content.
