The 3.4.1 release was the last release for this extension. All of the functionality will be merged into extension "Maps"Allows embedding of dynamic maps, geocoding and geospatial operations starting with its 4.0 release on November 16, 2016. Make sure that you update all references to the "Semantic Maps" extension to the "Maps" extension in your "LocalSettings.php" file and remove all of them from your "composer.json" file (MW ≤ 1.24) or "composer.local.json" file (MW ≥ 1.25) when upgrading to version 4.0 of Maps. Note also the breaking changes and the blog post on the 4.0 release.

Semantic Maps was an extension to extension "Semantic MediaWiki"Allows to store and query data annotated to pages (SMW) that added semantic capabilities to the Maps extension as well as adding the datatype datatype "Geographic coordinates"Holds coordinates describing geographic locations. This includes the ability to add, edit, aggregate and visualize coordinate data stored through the Semantic MediaWiki extension. It replaced earlier implementations in the "Semantic Google Maps" and "Semantic Layers" extensions.

Examples[edit]

These examples now relate to the Extension "Maps" extension and will eventually be updated.

Many examples of how to use Maps can be found on the Category:Semantic Maps examples page. You can also find documentation for Semantic Maps 1.0.x on the old documentation wiki. It still needs to be migrated to this wiki and updated.
