Page content language[edit]

In contrast to the Translate extension (handling translations within the same page), SIL is mostly concerned with managing content in different languages using separate pages that are interlinked with each other. For example, {{interlanguagelink:fr|Main Page}} describes the expected page content language of a page and denotes an arbitrary link source other pages can refer to.

Content pages referring to the same link source are assumed to represent similar content in a different language.
